Kid party ideas -HELPFUL HINTS
Allow time for planning- give yourself at least one month to plan the details of your party.Think aobut how much time you will need to set up the decorations, food and games.
Your child can create invitations. set up FUN KIDS CRAFTS, and prepare simple menu items.
Set a time limit-for younger children a couple of hours is lots of time for the party. If the kids are older three or four hours would be sufficient.
Make a schedule-make a list of what the guests will be doing from the moment they arrive. Keep in mind that some guests will arrive earlier then others. Your first activity should not depend on everyone being there. Schedule time for free play also. Have paper, markers and other items handy. Hold prizes for certain activities that are completed. Or hold fun contests.
Have a backup plan. If you hold an outdoor party for example make sure you have some indoor activities ready in case of rain.
Prepare your house or party area. Make sure your place is safe and childproof. If you have pets that may frighten the guests make sure they are out of sight until the bash is over. Place balloons on your mailbox or some other place so that the guests know where the party is when they are arriving.
Take lots of photos. Your child will want to remember their special occasion for years to come. You may want to have a video camera for more intimate memories. Take candid shots of small groups of kids to capture the fun at its best.
Send thank you notes. Sit down with your child a week after the party and write out thank you notes. Design fun cards on the computer or with other materials. Specialty stores also have a variety of thank you cards. You might want to include a photo of the party with each card or note.
And last but not least, keep a sense of humor, even if things dont go exactly the way you plan them, the point is to enjoy the kids and the party!
